Waterville

Waterville is a tiny community located on the north shore of Smith Sound, Trinity Bay, about 15km east of Clarenville. Until 1910 Waterville was known as Daniels Cove. The name was changed to avoid confusion with another community in Trinity Bay with the same name

In 1991 the population was about 35 and now, in 1996, there are about 26 living in the community. In 1993 Waterville was probably larger than any other time in its history, if you include both seasonal and year-round residences.

Waterville was once a lumbering and fishing settlement, however, today Waterville is predominately a residential town with most people working in nearby Clarenville.
